the weekend

we don't like fall.

it's only because 

we love summer so much.

vanilla malts help

and pony rides

and hayrides

and little playhouses

and apples help too.

feels like fall

it has been chilly this week

on monday there was the first day of school

penelope wore her gold metallic pants-

of course.

when her teacher from last year 

saw her, she said, 

"i see some things haven't changed"

and there was a first day photo 

on the front porch

with lily and paloma

and a first ballet class at

mn dance theatre

the weekend

on saturday

we were at the 

fulton farmers market

in minneapolis

- there was a little sidewalk

chalk quilt project

some really great coffee

and even better croissants

later that day

 we went to the walker

our friend matt was there

with this cool chair

more craft making

at the tool shed.

open field is the best.

then there were these birds-

on sunday we went to 

the open house

at penelope's new dance school

there was a sidewalk 

performance that followed

it was good.

we checked out the stars

at first ave too.

we ended the day here

at the childrens theater

with friends.

wanderlust and a wobbly tooth

this was last september-

we had just moved to italy.

and this september-

penelope has a wobbly tooth!

it's this one-

and she is very excited 

about the tooth fairy.

state fair

saturday we spent the

 day at the fair 

penelope is finally tall enough 

to ride the big rides

here we are on the alpine ski

-not scared at all.

a fun house with kiara

the fishing game

with her prize dolphins

and the food-

mini donuts

pronto pup

cheese curds

mac and cheese

a friendly chocolate milk

drinking challenge

(chip won.)

pizza

and a cheeseburger and fries

that was eleven and a half hours 

at the fair.

pretty good.

the unisphere and before...

on the last day of our trip

we spent the afternoon

at the unisphere

there was a rainbow

so amazing

and great.

and just before,

we were here

at the lemon ice king of corona

enjoying an italian ice

-it was good.

there was also a visit here

this is penelope listening to a soundtrack

and yesterday 

in a little cafe 

for steamed milk 

and a huge stack of pancakes

before a trip to the

hudson river valley

to storm king

cool place

with sculptures 

and tons of space

a little break

and then we were off again

on wednesday 

there was another 

day at the westport beach

5 hours worth.

and tuesday

a trip back to the city

for gelato at eataly

and a walk through 

washington square park

that turned into

another fountain swim

and tomorrow we go home...
